It is playing at the Christian Reform Church in Duncan. There will be discussion following the showing.

Langara Dialogues Debate
Hi, I need volunteers to help me mainstreet at the opening of the Vancouver Olympic / Paralympic Centre. This venue will be used for Olympic Curling.
The opening is between 5pm and 8pm -- Thursday, Feb. 19th. But I would like to be there a bit early and stay a bit after, to get people as they enter and leave.
We will be handing out pamphlets and have some signage to indicate what we are representing.
I was hoping for approx. 1 hour shifts manned by 3 or more people for a total of 4 shifts.
Richard talks about the virtues of BC-STV to his colleagues.
We are organizing in Kelowna, and will have our first volunteer meeting Thursday, February 19th, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:pm.
The meeting will be held at the KLO Campus on KLO Road, room H-116A, Health Bldg.
We are inviting anybody and everybody who is interested in electoral reform, and would like to help.

As many of you may already know, the last Friday of every month a large contingent of cyclists meet at the VAG and then proceed to cycle around the city--actually any human-powered object is invited.
I and others have proposed that anyone that would like to get the message out and have fun attend these events with pamphlets, flyers, buttons, etc.

On Wednesday, April 1 at 7pm, COPE will be hosting a free debate on Single Transferable Vote (STV) at the Creative Individual Studio (110-60 E 5th Ave) in Vancouver. The debate will be followed with a DJ and cash bar.
According to COPE external chair, Lucas Schuller, while COPE doesn’t have an official position on STV, it’s important to help facilitate the debate. “Electoral reform is a huge issue for those of us who want to empower a larger segment of our voting population.” He continues, “STV is a specific proposal on the ballot this May 12 and we need to talk about it.”

Bruce Hallsor, vice-president of Fair Voting BC, will be hosting an information evening on BC-STV (single transferable vote) featuring a mock election using STV voting rules so that participants can get first hand experience using this system recommended almost unanimously by the Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform.

As many of you may already know, the last Friday of every month a large contingent of cyclists meet at the VAG and then proceed to cycle around the city--actually any human-powered object is invited.
I and others have proposed that anyone that would like to get the message out and have fun attend these events with pamphlets, flyers, buttons, etc.
Where: The Vancouver Art Gallery (Georgia St. side)
When: Last Friday of every month between 5:00pm & 6:00pm (pre-event meeting place -- ride goes from 6:00pm onward)
Whether you’ve got a ten-speed, fixed gear supa-crusa, unicycle or just your little pony, join us as Get Your Vote On does a Critical Vote Ride on Friday, April 24th. Bicycles, skateboards, rollerskates, self propelled sofas, and any other forms of human powered locomotion are welcomed!
We will be cruising the streets - as a posse with a purpose - with the goal of educating and inspiring as many people as we can to get out and vote on May 12th.
Be informed before voting in the May 12 referendum on changing our voting system to a proprotional system called "BC-STV".

On May 12th, 2009, voters in BC will choose to retain the existing voting system or adopt a new system recommended by the Citizen's Assembly on Electoral reform. These 161 citizens, chosen at random and fully briefed, selected STV as the best system for British Columbia. In their eyes, the system would provide better representation than the present system and promote a spirit of collaboration in the legislature.

Candidates Robin Austin for the New Democrats, Liberal Donny van Dyk and Anita Norman from the Green party for the Skeena riding in the May 12 provincial election will be on hand for an all candidates forum beginning at 7 p.m. at the Terrace Pentecostal Assembly. Come hear Diana Byford of the YES campaign and John Heaney of the NO campaign make their case on the May 12 STV referendum in a public debate. The Fernwood STV debate is on Sunday May 10th, from 2-4pm at the FCA building, 1923 Fernwood Road.
This is an event worth seeing. The Christ Church Cathedral is hosting an All-Candidates Meeting, to be followed by an STV debate. Stuart Parker and David Schreck face off at about 3:30 pm at 690 Burrard St. (@ Georgia). If you haven't yet seen Stuart in action, I think you ought to. Total spectator sport. Tons of fun. Bring your mothers.
